The Athlete of the Month for March goes to Chris n’ Polly. The pair have demonstrated a desire to race in every race they can get their hands on. On top of that, Chris n’ Polly have been organizing the Wanderers entry into the USA Track and Field off-road series.

Their first performance was actually in February at the Ugly Mudder Trail Race in Reading. Despite truly treacherous conditions with pervasive and very slippery ice, Chris V. finished 54th out of a field of almost 800 in a time of 1:06. Polly as usual was not far behind completing the course in 1:12. She placed 100th and grabbed second place in the 30-39 women’s age group.

Next stop on the race calendar for Chris and Polly was the Caesar Rodney Half Marathon in Wilmington on March 11. Chris lead a strong Wanderer team at the event and finished in a sterling 1:28 and grabbed 120th place out of a field of almost 1,200 runners. Polly finished in 1:38.

The Wanderers have also gotten a flying start in the USATF off-road series, and Chris and Polly have been super organizers. The Wanderers are now in third place in the competition, but have the leading Rosemont Running Club and Philadelphia Charities teams clearly in the cross hairs to pass them in future events!!
