Wanderers Step Up to the Bar at the Phil's Tavern 5K

The Wanderers cleaned house at the Phil’s Tavern 5K held on Wednesday July 21 in Ambler. Leading the way, and bringing home a faux-bronze trophy to show for his effort, was Jeff Hayes who finished 3rd overall and completed the course in 17:14.

Randy Clever (53rd overall, 20:35) and Dennis Crowne (294th overall, 28:19) not only survived the rolling hills of the course and the humid evening, but also turned in solid performances.

Five Wanderers received commemorative pint glasses as age group award winners. They are; Jeff’s daughter and future Wanderer star Cecilia Davis-Hayes (335th, 29:52), Susan "I always drink for free' Hurrey (104th, 22:34), new Wanderer Justin Fogarty (35th, 19:20), Chris Moore (33rd, 19:14), and Matt Palombaro (10th, 17:41).
