Dennis Takes His Candid Camera to the Dirty Bird

Wanderers cut short their Thanksgiving holiday to travel out to French Creek State Park to run in the Dirty Bird 15K Trail Run on Sunday, November 25.  The Wanderers expedition consisted of the Great One, Bill McNichol, Dennis, Megan, Chris M. and his brother John Moore.  

Although official results have not been posted yet, initial reports indicate that the Wanderers did great, and Chris grabbed a third place in his age category, 30-39.  Wanderers associate Bob Reynolds actually won his age group 40-49.  Although specific information at this point is sparse, video footage taken by Dennis has been obtained, and provides the following account of the Dirty Bird trail race....and more!

Conditions for the race were perfect...Great short
sleeve weather for Susan although she decides once
more to wear her hideously psychedelic headband.

The Wanderers Technovan fell in love with the Pink VW
van parked in the French Creek State Park parking lot.

Dennis does it all.  First he is the Wanderers paparazzo,
then he puts the camera down to run the Dirty Bird!

Oh, yes, Dennis did some snacking after the race as well.

otherwise the Wanderers survived in one piece.

Once back in Philadelphia, Dennis' camera somehow strayed into the hands of the Great One.  To explain a string of fantastic performances produced by the Wanderers this fall, Susan went snooping in the pantry of Wanderers HQ looking for bags of frozen blood and stockpiles of EPO.  There she finds the real reason for Wanderer's success, a cache of baked goods and....

Ice Cream!!

WRONG!!!  Note ladder in foreground which the Great One used to get chin above bar.  The reality is that Susan did a Fat Zero chin-ups.  NADA!!  ZIPPO!!!

Susan is going to need a Rocky-like miracle for her to pass her fitness test of six chin-ups at Crossfit gym on January 4.  She should use this photograph for inspiration!!
