Sharon Schmidt won the women's division at the Triple Crown Trail Race 10k on April 28. She finished in a time of 48:13 and placed 21st overall out of almost 150 runners. Meanwhile, Barbara Gorka nailed down another first place in the women's masters division finishing 27th overall in 49:26.

The course was moderately hilly, not nearly so demanding as the Reading trail races. However, there was plenty of mud and muck to test the runners' character. The food after the race was absolutely first class and the Wanderers want to extend a warm thanks to the Trail Dawgs, who organized the event, for their hospitality.

Chris Moore, as usual, set the pace for the Wanderers finishing sixth in 41:58. Bob Reynolds was hot in pursuit finishing 7th in 42:04. Bob was another Wanderer medal winner placing second in the men's masters. Wanderers' friend and veteran cross country runner Chuck Shields placed 11th in 42:17.

Doug Dubrosky continues to excel for the Wanderers in the trail races finishing 18th in 46:37, and Jason O'Connell placed an impressive 22nd in his Wanderer debut in a time of 48:26.

Carnage finished 72nd in 58:24 in his first race after a long lay-off. Wanderer friend Ray Long beat Carnage to the tape finishing 65th in 57:01.

Adam Davey came in 80th in the 59:39 in the 10k race. But he came in first in the 12k race as he went off course for more than a mile!

Nicole Saint-Louis made her debut for the Wanderers in the 5k race, but as of press time the results for the 5k had not yet been posted.

The Triple Crown Trail Run, which was held in Carpenter State Park in Newark, Delaware, was the third event in the seven-race USA Track & Field off-road series. The Wanderers currently lurk in third position behind the front-running Philadelphia Athletic Charities and the Rosemont Running Club, but ahead of the Pineland Striders and the Pike Creek Running Club.

Sharon jumped into the lead in the overall women's competition, while Babs continued to extend her lead in the women's masters division, and Chris moved up to fourth in the open men's.

Chris has been an absolute rocket this spring out on the trails.
And the Triple Crown 10k was no exception as he finished in 41:55.

Bob Reynolds was another Wanderer medal winner. But Bob is on
loan to the Philadelphia Athletic Charities team for the USATF off road
series, so his award cannot be counted in the Wanderers medal haul.

from the race. Chuck slipped and fell on his nose...in the
warmup prior to the race. He picked himself up and finished
a very respectable 11th in the Triple Crown 10k
