The Valley Green Inn (website ») is, and for over a century has been, one of the most beloved places in Fairmount Park. What’s not to love? The place offers great food, welcoming porches in the summer, warm fireplaces in the winter, and an unparalleled setting. And over the years, the VGI has been great to the Wanderers and other recreational users of the park by providing them with a place to recharge regardless their ‘condition’ after their workouts. On Thursday nights after the weekly Wanderer trail workout, Wanderers enjoy food provided by the Inn at the bar while catching up with each other.
|The Food Network ranks this Inn’s brunch as one of “the best”! Experience the hospitality that makes visiting this last remaining roadhouse in the Wissahickon such a favorite Philadelphia tradition.|

Quotes From Wanderers:
“The Wissahickon Wanderers have been calling The Valley Green Inn home for almost 10 years now. We meet every Thursday at the Inn for drinks, good food and conversation. It is the highlight of our week. We want to thank Jack Ott and his staff for taking such good care of us. They are the best. We encourage everyone to come down to the Valley Green Inn, whether for lunch or dinner, to find out what a great place the Valley Green Inn is.”
Dan Gordon, founder Wissahickon Wanderers
“The hospitality of the staff at the Valley Green Inn has been second to none. They graciously accommodate us no matter what. Even during winter storms when we are amongst the few that venture out, they continue to provide us with wonderful, friendly service. Our post-workout time at the Valley Green makes all of the running pain disappear!”
Polly Jansen, Wanderer
