Richard Gardner of the Syracuse, N.Y.,
branch of the Wanderers excelled at this years Tupper
Lake Tinman competition on June 29th.
Richard finished in 310th place out of 705 competitors completing
the half-Ironman course in 5:26:13.
Richard splashed across the 1.2 mile opening swim leg in
30 minutes and one second. Then pedaling at a speed of 19.5
miles an hour, he completed the 56-mile bicycle portion of
the competition in 2 hours and 52 minutes. Finally, he ran
the half marathon final segment of the race in 1:54:29 cruising
at a pace of 8:45 a mile.
