Wanderers Run In the New Year
Wanderers gathered at the Valley Green Inn on December
31, 2004 to celebrate New Year’s Eve, as well as participate in
the Wissahickon Wanderers Inaugural New Year’s Run. Several Wanderers,
friends, and loved ones brought assorted food items to go
along with the drinks being doled out by Official Wanderer
Bartender, and manager of the Inn, Ken. The partying started
at 10:00 and lasted until the early morning hours.
The highlight of the evening
was the midnight run. While most Wanderers chose
to don party hats and ring noise makers for the run, two Wanderers were more
daring and chose to wear nothing. Chris Moore and Michael
Branca chose to run
a la Baby New Year and covered the entire out and back course "in
the raw." For
the record, the daring behavior demonstrated by Chris and Michael was not the
result of alcohol induced bravado; it was actually planned weeks in advance
of the event.
Special thanks go out to Jack, who is the owner of the
restaurant, and Ken
for accommodating us for the evening. A great time was had by all and we
hope to
do it again next year!
