Petra surveys shoreline where the swimming
portion of the Ironman was held.

The course was flat with no shade. By midday, it was hot, hot, hot.

Jan Ullrich would have been impressed by Petra's biking form.

Werner went ape over Petra's performance.

Petra wheels into the transition area.

Transition areas have usually spelled trouble for Wanderers, especially the Pieman who spent 10 minutes in one biathlon JUST LOOKING FOR HIS BIKE! But Petra shows how a transition should be performed and stuffed gel into her shorts while on the run.

By this stage in the marathon, most Wanderers would
be crying. Not Petra. Smiling, she makes it look easy.

Guess who this Wanderer's support technician is?
The cowbell should be the tip-off.

Petra buries another competitor in the final section of the Ironman.

Petra can’t believe it. The finish is just ahead.

12:25:22 tells the story. Amazing!!!

The race started before dawn and ended after dusk.
Petra savors her performance after the finish.

Having joined Bernie Brosnan as the only Wanderer Ironmen/
women, Petra learns she has also won her age category.
