Bike Philly 2007
A unique biking event is taking place in Philadelphia this Fall
on Sunday September 9, 2007 at 8 a.m. It is similar
to New York's Five Borough Tour in that you will be able to enjoy
and experience various parts of Philadelphia on your bicycle but
without the worry of having to deal with traffic.
This fun, family-friendly event is not a race but rather a
pleasure ride to provide cyclists with the opportunity to experience
the sights and sounds of Philadelphia by bike in a safe traffic-free
environment.
Organizers of the event, Bike
Philly 2007, will close the roads
to traffic and provide water and food every 7 miles. Participants
can choose between 10 and 20 mile traffic-free rides as well as longer
rides of 35 and 50 miles utilizing a mix of regular and traffic-free
roads.
For additional information and to register, please visit the Bike
Philly 2007 website >>
Bike Philly is also looking for
volunteers.
